“Week One update:

Her name is Winnie. We’re doing great. Still working on potty training, but she’s been a very busy dog all week. She’s excellent in the truck and on the boat. Took her on her first swim with me in the shallows today, and she is already retrieving a mini tennis ball and returning to me very well. I think she’s going to make an excellent hunter and family dog.

6-month update:

Went to the vet this morning and she’s 55 pounds exactly now. On Monday she leaves for 5 months for advanced training in waterfowl hunting journey. Thankfully she’s just an hour from me so she gets to come home on the weekends and make the last month of hunting season (pretty rare for a pup to get to retrieve some birds before they turn 1).”
